Regulatory compliance and optimized revenue are critical for the success of any physical therapy business. HIDEF Physical Therapy, a multi-location clinic in Washington state, recognized this and partnered with Prompt Insight (formerly PredictionHealth's Practice Intel) to drive greater efficiency and accurarcy across their operations.
"Our experience has been great," said practice owner and PT Zach Smith. "We've seen improvements across the board with compliance and coding. The program offers transparency like I've never seen, and allows everyone to know exactly where they stand."
Insight's Detailed Provider Scores table gives practice managers a clear snapshot of each therapist's compliance performance, highlighting who is excelling and who may need some more support. Many practices use this data to guide improvement, but Zach took it a step further.
He built a new master note template by combining the strongest documentation habits from multiple therapists. The result was immediate and measurable. "Within just 2 months, my personal compliance score jumped by over 15 points (on a 100 point scale)," Zach said.
This consistency became the foundation for better documentation across the entire practice, raising the bar for quality and accountability.
At the same time, HIDEF therapists began using CPT Insights, a tool that compares documentation to corresponding CPT codes and flags potential mismatches. The team quickly adapted, using this real-time feedback to self-correct and improve.
"We had one therapist who was a new hire and was coding all her exercises as 97110," Zach said. "It was predicted that 75% of her coding was potentially incorrect. I showed her the stats compared to the company average of 21% or so, and she began correcting her coding the very next day."
This simple shift, empowering therapists with transparent data, drove immediate behavior change and strong coding accuracy across the board.
Peer benchmarking fostered healthy competition within HIDEF's team. Therapists could see exactly how they stacked up against their peers and other clinics, creating motivation to improve and stay aligned with best practices.
"Being able to compare yourself to peers and benchmark between clinics is huge. People don't want to be outliers when it comes to negative stats," Zach said. Those leading the pack could take pride in their results, while everyone had a clear, objective path to follow to improve.
Insight has become a cornerstone of HIDEF's success, helping the team strengthen compliance, refine their coding, and build a culture of continous improvement powered by data.
"[Insight] has made a significant difference in our practice and continually showcases its innovate prowess, such as 'Ask AI,' which is now serving as somewhat of a business analyst," said Zach. "As they unveil future features, I know the platform will seamlessly integrate even more into our therapists' daily routine, especially with real-time insights on the horizon. I'm eagerly anticipating their next advancements."
