At Prompt, we believe every feature release should do 2 things: simplify the way you work, and deepen the way you care for patients.

This month, we’re excited to share new tools that make it easier to manage patient engagement, ensure compliance, and improve financial experiences for families. From customizable lost patient rules to pain reassessments and simplified guarantor payments, our latest updates are all about giving your team more control while keeping the patient journey front and center.

Here’s what’s new in Prompt V9.7 and V9.8.

Redefining lost patient rules for smarter outreach

Staying connected with patients is one of the best ways to ensure better outcomes, but every practice defines “lost” differently. That’s why we’ve introduced customizable lost patient rules in Prompt Plus.

Now, you can set how many days since a patient’s last visit that Prompt should consider them “lost.” This ranges from anywhere between 15 and 90 days, with 30 days as the default. Once a patient crosses that threshold, Prompt automatically excludes them from receiving waitlist refills or opportunity invites.

Prompt Plus users see on average more than 20% improvement in their Plan of Care adherence rate. Learn more about how Prompt Plus can help you and your patients.

Smart outreach isn’t just about volume; it’s also about relevance. By aligning lost patient rules with your practice’s unique cadence, you’ll avoid overwhelming patients with irrelevant invites and ensure that the right people are hearing from you at the right time.

Simplifying payments for families and guarantors

Billing is one of the biggest friction points in healthcare. Families want clarity, security, and convenience. Practices want timely, accurate payments without bottlenecks. Our new guarantor access to online bill pay bridges that gap.

Guarantors can now log in using their own email or cell phone, along with the patient’s date of birth, to securely view and pay balances. No more reliance on shared logins, confusing credentials, or back-and-forth calls.

Now, families have an easier, more intuitive way to manage financial responsibilities, while practices can still see faster payments and reduced administrative load.

Ensuring compliance with payer-specific documentation

In today’s regulatory environment, correct documentation is critical for compliance and protecting your clinic from audit risk. That’s why we’ve introduced payer-specific start and stop time capture, complete with built-in alerts.

With this enhancement, your team can record visit times accurately and confidently, knowing that documentation will stand up to payer audits. Built-in alerts ensure no detail slips through the cracks, giving both clinicians and administrators peace of mind.

Compliance may not always feel exciting, but it’s foundational. By streamlining this process, we’re helping practices safeguard reimbursement and reduce audit risk, while also letting clinicians stay totally focused on their patients during visits.

Reassessing pain, reimagining patient progress

Patient-reported outcomes are a powerful lens into progress, but too often, they’re captured only at intake. Our new follow-up pain scale forms change that.

Directly from the scheduling module, you can now send patients digital pain assessments to track their experience over time. This makes it simple to capture updated pain measurements, monitor trends, and align treatment decisions with real-world feedback.

The impact is twofold: clinicians gain richer data to inform care, and patients feel heard throughout their recovery journey. It’s a small workflow tweak with the potential for big clinical insight.

What’s next

As always, these updates are just the beginning. Our product and engineering teams are already hard at work on new capabilities that will make your workflows even smoother and your patient experiences even stronger.

In the meantime, we encourage you to:

  • Customize your lost patient settings to match your practice’s cadence
  • Introduce guarantors to the new online bill pay process
  • Train your team on start and stop time capture to ensure compliance
  • Schedule follow-up pain forms to track patient progress

We can’t wait to see how you put these tools into action. Prompt users can learn more about these and more features in Prompt University.
