This month, pre-charted treatments carry forward from missed visits, Sidekick drafts assessments without audio and suggests treatments, and payer rules flag diagnosis code issues at checkout. That means less prep to redo, less writing from scratch, and cleaner claims before they go out.
You pre-charted for your 2PM, but your 2PM had other plans. 🫤 Now there's prep work to redo, 3 more notes to finish, and claims to double check before the day is done.
This month's updates help with all of it. Pre-charted treatments now carry into the patient's next visit. Sidekick (Prompt's AI scribe) already drafts assessments from patient visit recordings. Now it can draft them from what’s already in your note (without a recording), and suggest treatments, too. Plus, payer rules flag diagnosis code issues before the claim goes out.
Less rework at every step, from the schedule to the claim.
Every payer has its own rules about which diagnosis codes it will pay for, and which codes it won't accept together. That's a lot to keep track of at the end of a visit, and one missed rule can mean a denied claim
Prompt already lets you set payer rules for CPT codes (the codes for the services you bill). Now you can set them for diagnosis codes, too. Block a single code, or a pair of codes, for 1 payer or a whole insurance type. The rule shows up at checkout (the final steps a clinician takes to sign the note and send the visit to billing). Set each rule as Required to pause checkout until the issue is resolved, or Suggested to show a warning that can be bypassed. Add a short message so clinicians know why a code is blocked and how to resolve it.
What you'll notice
Some practices book rooms or equipment on their own, like a pool lane or gym session a patient pays for outside a provider visit. When one of those bookings is canceled or missed, that time goes unused, and so does the revenue.
Prompt already lets you schedule these standalone bookings, called unlinked resource visits (visits not linked to a specific provider). Now you can cancel them the same way you cancel any other visit. Pick a reason (patient canceled, center canceled, or no-show), add an optional note, and charge a fee if one applies. If you've set default cancellation and no-show fees, the amount fills in for you. The fee goes on the patient's balance and the cancellation shows up in your Cancellations report.
What you'll notice
Some patients see more than 1 discipline at a time. A reminder about "your appointment tomorrow" can leave them guessing.
Now teams can turn on a setting that adds the discipline to text message reminders. It's based on the provider type of the clinician assigned to the patient's case, like PT, OT, SLP, or DC. Patients know exactly which visit is coming up.
What you'll notice
The assessment is where you connect the dots and make the case for continued care. It often takes the most thought of any part of the note. Sidekick (Prompt’s AI scribe) already drafts it from your patient visit recordings or dictation. Now you can get a draft on visits with no audio, too.
Sidekick Smart Draft (Beta) reads what's already in your note, including subjective info, objective measures, and your flowsheet (the record of treatments done during the visit). Then it drafts an assessment for you to review. Add lines one at a time, add them all, or ask for a new draft. You can also turn on automatic suggestions so a draft appears without clicking. Less time on the assessment means more notes done before the day ends.
What you'll notice
On an evaluation, you're building a treatment plan for a brand new patient. That usually means searching your treatment library, exercise library, or HEP program for the stretches, exercises, and patient education materials that fit what the patient needs to work on to reach their goals.
Sidekick Treatment Suggestions (Beta) looks at the treatments you’ve used before and puts the ones most likely to fit this patient at the top of your list. Suggestions come only from your library in Prompt, with your usual defaults for sets, reps, minutes, and CPT codes.
What you'll notice
Every practice has its own way of documenting. Custom tables let you build that into your notes, from range of motion grids and checklists to the outcome measures your team relies on. But typing the same entries into every row adds up.
Now 2 shortcuts work with table templates, too. If you’ve used macros in other EMRs, they’ll feel familiar: Save text once, then drop it in with a click or a keystroke. Dropdown tokens are saved lists of options, like “WNL” or “limited,” that you pick from in any cell instead of typing. Dot phrases pull in patient details, like date of surgery: Type a period and choose the detail you need. Save default selections in a table template, and they’re already filled in when you add the table to a note.
What you'll notice
Pre-charting gives you a head start on the note before the patient arrives or checks in. When that patient cancels or no-shows, the prep is still useful.
The written parts of a pre-charted note already carried into the patient's next visit. Now pre-charted treatments, CPT codes, and treatment notes can come along, too. When you copy from a past visit, choose the canceled or no-show visit, and everything copies into today's visit.
What you'll notice
Not every block on the schedule is a patient visit. Admin time, team meetings, and personal time take up hours, too. Without a way to measure them, those hours are hard to account for when you’re reviewing capacity, productivity, or bonuses.
The Operations Report now has a tab for non-patient time. It lists every block with the date, provider, location, start and end time, duration, and who created it. It also shows the capacity setting (how much of the provider's schedule the block takes up). Now you can see exactly how much time goes into non-patient work, and by whom.

Prompt ships updates every 2 weeks, so your team spends less time waiting and more time working with better tools.
September's releases are about keeping work moving. Prep work carries forward, notes build on what's already in them, and missed visits turn into rebooked ones.

A linked resource is booked with a provider visit, like a traction table before an adjustment. It follows your usual documentation and billing path. An unlinked resource visit is booked on its own, with no provider, no note, and no claim, like a patient paying to use a pool lane.
No. Smart Draft works from the information already in your note. It's available on certain note types once enough information has been added.
This feature is rolling out gradually to providers with Sidekick beta features enabled. Suggestions also only appear when Sidekick is confident about a visit. You can always search your full library as usual.
Required rules show a red alert that stops checkout until the issue is resolved. Suggested rules show a yellow alert that can be bypassed.
