No learning curve: How Prompt Sidekick AI scribing helped Dynamix cut documentation time and focus on patients

With virtually no learning curve, Nick Nordtvedt says Prompt's AI documentation assistant, Sidekick, is saving Dynamix’s PTs hours in documentation time.

“Our clinicians would spend about 45 minutes to an hour at the end of the day completing their documentation, depending on how many patients they saw. Sometimes, they may even spend more time documenting and an eval, a new patient eval, would often take 15 or 20 minutes to complete. What used to take 45 minutes to an hour to complete now takes five or 10 minutes at the end of the day, if that.”

Nick also says that Sidekick is helping the Dynamix team focus on patients, minimizing the need to take notes or concentrate elsewhere while evaluating and treating a patient.

“I don’t have to worry about going back to my computer to type when I get information from the patient because Sidekick can listen to our conversation and it can really key in on what’s important for them. What that conversation was about as far as what’s bothering the patient today. What kind of difficulty they’ve had since the last time they were here and what do we need to focus on and work on today so that they walk out of the clinic better than when they walked in.”

A better way to document

“At Dynamix, we found that Sidekick is a very useful tool to help us complete timely documentation and more compliant documentation.

Nick explains that the most valuable feature has been Sidekick. “The most valuable feature that we found has been with Sidekick, which has greatly reduced our time spent documenting.”

By cutting documentation time dramatically, Sidekick has made it possible for clinicians to wrap up their day without taking work home. “Sidekick has taken a lot of the documentation stress and time off of me and all the clinicians that work at Dynamix,” Nick says. “This allows us to really spend time focusing on the patient in front of us and making sure that we’re giving them the best patient experience possible.”

“By taking the computer out of the way, by not making us lose focus on the patient in front of us while we’re taking time away from their treatment to type or look at the computer more, we can really just spend time focusing on what’s important, which is the person in front of us and helping them get back to the life that they want to have.”

Nick says Sidekick has changed how he works entirely. “ Sidekick has changed how I work by allowing me to spend more time with the patient in front of me.”

According to Nick, new clinicians can start using Sidekick with ease. “When we roll out Sidekick to a new clinician, there’s no learning curve to it. They just put it on their web browser and turn it on, and it listens and does all the work for them to write a note pretty much.”
